Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass (Deluxe Edition)
This deluxe edition combines Lewis Carroll's beloved works, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and Through the Looking-Glass (1871), in one volume. The stories follow Alice, a curious young girl who enters fantastical worlds. In Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, she falls down a rabbit hole into a surreal land filled with peculiar creatures, such as the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, and the Queen of Hearts. In Through the Looking-Glass, Alice steps through a mirror into another strange realm where she encounters characters like Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and embarks on a chess-themed journey.
This particular edition, with 92 illustrations by John Donnell, was made in 1946. Donnell's illustrations capture the whimsy and oddity of Carroll’s world, offering a visual complement to the text. The deluxe edition elevates the experience with intricate details and fine production, making it a collector's item.

About the Author (Lewis Carroll)
Lewis Carroll, the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832–1898), was a British writer, mathematician, and logician. He is best known for his contributions to children's literature, particularly Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel. Carroll was also a lecturer in mathematics at Oxford and had a keen interest in photography. His writing style, known for its wordplay, logic, and fantastical elements, has made him a significant figure in literary history.
About the Artist (John Donnell)
John Donnell, the illustrator for this edition, brought his own distinct style to Carroll's narrative. While less well-known compared to other Alice illustrators like John Tenniel, Donnell's work for this 1946 deluxe edition is celebrated for its blend of whimsy and classical technique, adding a fresh interpretation to Carroll's timeless stories.
This edition represents a unique intersection of literary brilliance and artistic craftsmanship, making it a cherished volume for fans of both classic literature and illustrative art.
